Number and value of transacted dwellings in the Autonomous Region of Madeira decreased compared to the previous quarter
During the second quarter of the current year, 523 dwellings were traded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, down by 5.4% over the previous quarter, but up by 9.0% compared to the year-ago quarter. From that total, 418 were existing dwellings and the remaining 105 new dwellings.
The value of transacted dwellings in the reference quarter was approximately 58.3 million euros, representing a 29.4% decrease over the previous quarter, but a 17.9% increase compared to the same quarter of the prior year. The sales value for the new dwellings stood at 15.2 million euros and for existing dwellings at 43.1 million euros.
In Portugal, the number of transacted dwellings in second quarter 2016 reached 31.8 thousand (a 7.8% increase compared to the last quarter), generating a sales value of 3.7 billion euros.
