Implicit interest rate in housing credit and loan repayments in the Autonomous Region of Madeira decreased
In April 2020, the implicit interest rate in housing credit in the Region was 0.908%, decreasing by 0.042 percentage points (p.p.) from the previous month. In April 2019, the rate was 1.027%.
The average value of loan repayments decreased to €257 in the month of reference, with the interest component standing at €44 (down by €2 from the previous month) and the capital amortisation at €213 (down €12 from in the previous month). In April 2019, the average value of loan repayments was 272 euros.
The average outstanding loan value in housing credit in the Autonomous Region of Madeira went up to €57,976 (€57,891 in the previous month). One year before it stood at €58,127.
In Portugal, the implicit interest rate in housing credit stood at 0.947% (down by 0.051 p.p. from the previous month), while the average value of loan repayments decreased to €237. The average outstanding loan value for Portugal rose from €53,840 in March 2020 to €53,886 in April 2020, thus maintaining a steady growth since March 2019.
