In the 2nd quarter of 2025
Volume of cement sold increased quarter-on-quarter but declined year-on-year
According to data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the 2nd quarter of 2025, cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) reached 42.8 thousand tonnes, reflecting a 9.0% increase compared to the previous quarter (39.3 thousand tonnes). Compared to the same quarter of the previous year (46.2 thousand tonnes), there was a 7.2% decrease.
In the referenced quarter, the value of cement sold in the ARM amounted to 6.5 million euros, showing a quarterly and year-on-year increase of 12.0% and 0.4%, respectively.
Year-to-date (the first six months of 2025), the volume of cement sold declined by 5.5% compared to the same period in the previous year, while the value of cement sold went up by 1.8%.
