In the third quarter 2016
Number and value of transacted dwellings in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased compared to the previous quarter
During the third quarter of the current year, 562 dwellings were traded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, up by 7.5% over the previous quarter, and also up by 17.8% compared to the year-ago quarter. From that total, 444 were existing dwellings and the remaining 118 new dwellings.
The value of transacted dwellings in the reference quarter was approximately 67.7 million euros, representing a 15.9% increase over the previous quarter and a 30.7% increase compared to the same quarter of the prior year. The sales value for the new dwellings stood at 17.1 million euros and for existing dwellings at 50.5 million euros.
In Portugal, the number of transacted dwellings in third quarter 2016 reached 31.5 thousand (a 0.7% decrease compared to the last quarter), generating a sales value of 3.6 billion euros.
