Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) releases new time series on transacted dwellings
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira releases, for the first time, on its official statistics website, a quarterly and an annual time series, with the number and sales value of the transacted dwellings for the Autonomous Region of Madeira and for Portugal. The series begins in the first quarter of 2009.
In 2015, 2.1 thousand dwellings were traded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the highest value since 2012. The growth rate between 2014 and 2015 was 36.0%. The trend of the three previous years was reversed, since between 2012 and 2014 the number of transacted dwellings dropped continuously.
The value of transacted dwellings in 2015 was approximately 237 million Euros, representing a 36.9% increase over 2014.
In Portugal, the number of transacted dwellings in 2015 stood at 107.3 thousand (a 27.4% increase over 2014), generating a sales value of 12.5 billion euros.
