In the second quarter of 2026
Volume of cement sold increased compared with the previous quarter, but fell year-on-year
According to data compiled by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the second quarter of 2026, cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) amounted to 41.7 thousand tonnes, reflecting an increase of 5.1% compared with the previous quarter (39.7 thousand tonnes). Compared with the same quarter of the previous year (42.8 thousand tonnes), a decrease of 2.7% was observed.
In turn, the value of cement sold in the ARM, in the quarter in question, amounted to 6.9 million euros, showing a quarterly and year-on-year increase of 9.3% and 5.4%, respectively.
In cumulative terms (first six months of 2026), the volume of cement marketed decreased 1.0% compared with the same period of the previous year, while the value of cement sold increased 6.6%.
