Value of performed works by construction enterprises amounted to 427.9 million euros

In 2014, the value of performed works by construction enterprises headquartered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira amounted to 427.9 million euros, a decrease of 4.2% compared to 2013. This drop was mainly caused by the decline of the building works and the civil engineering works by 9,4% and 2,3%, respectively.

The construction companies with 20 and more employees were responsible for 80.5% of the total value of the performed works, generating 344.3 million euros, down by 3.9% compared to 2013. In this type of companies, the performed works in buildings registered a considerable decrease (-29.5% compared to 2013). This decline affected both residential buildings (-39,7%, corresponding to -6.6 million euros) and non-residential buildings (-25,8%, i.e. -12.0 million euros).

In 2014, the purchases made by the construction enterprises stood at 83.1 million euros, down by 3.0% from 2013.
