Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira releases data on public employment
From this year onwards, the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) will release data on public employment in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, on its official statistics website. These data comes from the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment, which releases two regular publications, SIEP (Synthesis of Public Employment Statistics) and BOEP (Bulletin of Public Employment Statistics).
Public Employment in the Regional Government of Madeira dropped by 8,1% between 2011 and 2015
The provisional data show that at 31/12/2015 there were 19,605 persons working in the Regional Government of Madeira. Compared with the previous quarter this represents a decline of 219 persons and a decrease of 399 persons if compared with the same day of 2014. At 31/12/2011 the number of persons working in the Regional Government of Madeira stood at 21,341 and this figure has declined steadily quarter after quarter with the exception of the 4th quarter of 2014.
