At the end of the 1st quarter 2017
Gross debt of the Regional Administration of Madeira stood at 4.959 billion Euros
The gross debt of the Regional Administration of Madeira stood at 4.959 billion Euros at the end of the 1st quarter 2017, increasing by 46 million Euros (0.9%) from the year-ago quarter and by 120 million Euros (+2.5%) from the previous quarter.
The quarterly increase is explained by the restructuring of the swap operations of public enterprises of the Regional Administration of Madeira and also by new debt regularisation agreements.
The breakdown of the gross debt by financial instrument shows a decrease in the share of loans from 81.2% in the 1st quarter of 2016 to 77.5% in the reference quarter. This decline was offset by the growth in the percentage of securities which, during the same period, rose from 18.8% to 22.5%.
