During the first three months of 2014, 64.4% of people aged between 16 and 74 years old used a computer and 62.8% accessed internet

According to the results of the Survey on Information and Communication Technologies Usage in Private Households carried out in 2014, 69.9% of the private households of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, with at least one member aged between 16 and 74 years old, had access to a computer in their homes (3.8 percentage points more than in 2013).

The proportion of individuals in the age group 16 to 74 years old that used a computer and/or accessed internet at least once in their lifetime stood at 71.4% and 68.6%, respectively. 35.6% of those individuals also used the Internet to make purchases or to place orders.
