Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate was -0.4%.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.4%, higher than the value recorded in the previous month (July) by 0.1 percentage point (p.p.).

The largest downward pressure on the annual average rate of change came from decreases in the prices of "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" (-3.0%), "Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house” (-1.2%) and “Health” (-0.9%). On the opposite side, the highest increases were observed in the "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (+2.6%) and "Communications" (+1.7%).

At a national level, the 12-month inflation rate measured by the CPI stood at -0.2%, the same value of the previous month.
