Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was ‑0.9%

In June 2021, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.9%, increasing by 0.1 percentage points (pp) when compared to the previous month. Underlying inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food had a rate of -1.4%, unchanged from the previous month.

Goods recorded a rate of -0.1% and services of -2.1%.

The largest negative changes were observed in “Education” (-4.9%) and "Transports” (-3.9%) classes. Conversely, the highest positive changes occurred in “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (+1.7%) and "Health" (+0.9%) classes.

In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.3%, 0.1 pp higher than in the previous month.

In June 2021, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was +0.3% compared to the previous month and increased by 2.0% over the same month of the previous year.
