Given that the level of detail available allows for a more refined analysis of the evolution of amounts processed through the SIBS network, DREM presents, as in previous years, an analysis covering the period between the first week of November and the end of the year, as this is a particularly intense period in terms of purchasing activity.
Contrary to tradition, in 2025, neither the Black Friday week nor the week preceding Christmas recorded the highest amounts of cash withdrawals and purchases through APT during the pre-Christmas period.
During the Black Friday week (week 48, from 24 to 30 November), the amount processed totalled 64.1 million euros, registering decreases compared with both the previous week (-4.5%) and the corresponding week of 2024 (-1.1%).
The same occurred in the week preceding Christmas (week 51, from 15 to 21 December), with the amount processed (59.2 million euros) also recording decreases compared with the previous week (-15.1%) and the corresponding week of the previous year (-15.4%).
The week with the highest amount processed was week 50 (from 8 to 14 December), during which approximately 69.8 million euros were recorded, representing an increase of 19.7% compared with the previous week and 12.2% compared with the corresponding week of the previous year.
Finally, during Christmas week (week 52, the last week of 2025), the amount processed was 2.9% higher than in the previous week, with total cash withdrawals and purchases through APT reaching 60.9 million euros.

DREM updates the time series on SIBS network operations

Information is available on operations, cash withdrawals, balance enquiries, payments and purchases through APT, as well as on the number of terminals and Multibanco machines.
