In the 2nd quarter of 2023
Ticket revenues at cinemas in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased by nearly 50%
According to provisional data provided by the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), in the 2nd quarter of 2023, there were a total of 3,603 sessions in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM), representing a 7.6% increase compared to the same period in 2022.
The number of spectators reached 61,477, marking a substantial 46.1% growth in year-on-year terms, and the ticket revenues amounted to 335.6 thousand euros, showing a significant 49.5% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
Year-to-date, i.e., in the first half 2023, there was an increase in the number of sessions, spectators, and revenues at cinemas in the region, with respective growth rates of 8.9%, 41.1%, and 48.5% compared to the same period in the previous year.
