In the reference month, scheduled flights at the ARM airports accounted for 93.6% of total aircraft movements and 95.9% of passengers (92.5% and 94.6% in April 2025, respectively).

In April 2026, the aircraft occupancy rate at the ARM airports stood at around 87.1%, with Madeira Airport reaching 87.5% and Porto Santo Airport 77.6%. Last year, the year-on-year occupancy rate was lower across both regional airports combined (86.8%), at Madeira Airport (87.3%), and at Porto Santo Airport (76.1%).

From January to April 2026, embarked and disembarked passengers at the ARM airports (excluding transit passengers) totalled 1 700.5 thousand, 42.0% of whom corresponded to traffic exclusively between airports located in national territory — including domestic and interior connections— and 58.0% to international traffic. Within the latter, the United Kingdom (27.8%) and Germany (21.2%) were the main countries of origin and destination for international flights at the ARM airports.
