Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%
In January 2017, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%, 0.1 percentage points (p.p.) higher than in the previous month.
The largest downward pressure on the annual average rate of change occurred in the classes of "Transports" (-5.4%) and "Clothing and footwear" (-1.6%). On the opposite side, "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (+3.3%) and "Communications" (+2.6%) recorded the largest positive changes.
In Portugal, the value of that rate was 0.7%, 0.1 p.p. higher than in the previous month.
In January 2017, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region was 0.6% higher than in the previous month.
