Consumer Prices Index 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was -0.5%, 0.1 percentage points (p.p.) lower than the value recorded in the previous month.

The largest downward pressure on the annual average rate of change of the CPI occurred in the classes of "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" (-2.9%), "Health " (-2.0%) and "Recreation and culture" (-1.5%). On the opposite side, the highest increases were observed in "Alcoholic beverages and tobacco" (+1.8%), “Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" and "Communications" (+1.5% in both classes).

In the country, the value of that rate stood at -0.3%, lower than the previous month (-0.4%).

In December 2014, the average value of rents per by net area in the Region was the same as in the previous month.
