Between January and September 2023
Building permits decreased compared to the corresponding period, while completed buildings increased
During the period from January to September 2023, 391 buildings were licensed, reflecting a decrease of 1.0% compared to the same period in 2022 (395). Of the licensed construction and demolition projects, 69.1% were attributed to new constructions (270), with 89.3% of them intended for family housing (241). These projects resulted in the licensing of 964 dwellings in new constructions for family housing, representing an increase of 95.1% compared to the first nine months of 2022 (494).
Regarding completed buildings, between January and September 2023, there was a 13.0% increase compared to the corresponding period, totalling 312 buildings. Of these, 68.3% were related to new constructions for residential housing (213). As for completed dwellings in new constructions for residential housing (408), the results indicate a decrease of 16.0% compared to the same period in 2022 (486).
In the third quarter of 2023, the building permits increased by 12.1% on a year-on-year basis, while completed buildings increased by 13.5%.
