This notice provides information about the processing of personal data that you submit to us through the contact form or by email, in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data do we process and for what purposes?

We process your name, email address, the subject line and content of your message, and any other personal data you choose to include, for the purpose of responding to your request for statistical information, a request for clarification or other enquiry.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. Without this information, we cannot respond to your request.

Please do not include personal data that is not necessary for your request, particularly special categories of personal data, such as data concerning health, religious or philosophical beliefs, or sexual orientation.

What is the legal basis for processing?

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest vested in DREM (Article 6(1)(e) GDPR), namely the provision and dissemination of official statistics, pursuant to Article 8 of Law No. 22/2008 of 13 May (National Statistical System Law).

Who has access to the data?

The data are processed by DREM staff responsible for handling your request.

Messages are received and stored through the email service provided and managed for DREM by Statistics Portugal (Instituto Nacional de Estatística, I.P., INE).

Personal data are not disclosed to other entities, except where disclosure is required by law.

How long do we retain the data?

Requests and replies are retained for the period specified in DREM's records management instruments. After that period, they are deleted or, where retained for archiving purposes in the public interest, preserved in accordance with Article 89 GDPR.

Automated decision-making and profiling

Your personal data are not subject to decision-making based solely on automated processing, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

Subject to the conditions and limitations laid down in the GDPR, you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection (Articles 15 to 18 and 21 GDPR).
