Rendered services to enterprises generated 138.5 million euros
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira releases today the preliminary data for 2015 of the Business Services Survey, making also available the revised time series for the years 2008-2014, following an update of the business statistics carried out by Statistics Portugal. This revision is related to the Section M of NACE Rev.2 - Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities.
The Services Rendered to Enterprises are comprised of the following eight activities: “Computing”; “Legal”, “Accountability, auditing and consulting”, Architecture and Engineering”, “Technical testing and analysis”, “Advertising”, “Market studies and opinion polls” and “Employment related activities”.
The turnover of Services Rendered to Enterprises generated by enterprises located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) stood at 138.5 million euros, up by 5.7 million from the previous year (+4.3%).The information now available indicates that in 2015, 41.2% of the turnover of the services rendered to enterprises in the Region derived from computer services. The turnover of this activity totaled 57.1 million euros in 2015, up by 7.8% compared to 2014.
In the year of reference, the activities connected to Services Rendered to Enterprises employed 3,472 persons, having increased by 73 persons when compared to 2014 (+2.1%). The share of female employment dropped from 41.7% in 2014 to 39.2% in 2015.
The turnover by person employed stood at 39.9 thousand euros in 2015, up by 2.0% from 2014, while the ratio of personnel costs by person employed reached 13.4 thousand euros in 2015, increasing by 2.2% from the year before.
