Rendered services to enterprises generated 131.4 million Euros

The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira releases today the preliminary data for 2016 of the Business Services Survey.

The Services Rendered to Enterprises are comprised of the following eight activities: “Computing”; “Legal”, “Accountability, auditing and consulting”, Architecture and Engineering”, “Technical testing and analysis”, “Advertising”, “Market studies and opinion polls” and “Employment related activities”.

The turnover of Services Rendered to Enterprises generated by enterprises located in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) stood at 131.4 million Euros, down by 10.9 million from the previous year (-7.7%). The information now available indicates that in 2016 the turnover of “Architecture, engineering activities and related technical consulting” totalled 12.4 million Euros in 2016, decreasing by 8.7% compared to 2015. Legal activities generated 11.9 million Euros, almost the same value as in 2015.

In the year of reference, the activities connected to Services Rendered to Enterprises employed 3,637 persons, increasing by 147 persons when compared to 2015 (+4.2%). The share of female employment increased 0.1 percentage points from 2015 to 2016, to 40.6%.

The turnover by person employed decreased by 11.4% from 2015, totalling 36.1 thousand Euros in 2016, as did the ratio of personnel costs by person employed, reaching 12.9 thousand Euros in 2016 (down by 1.5% from the year before).
