Main fuels released for consumption increased by 1.4%
In the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) reached 134.3 million litres in 2014, increasing by 1.4% compared to 2013. The main fuel – diesel oil – rose by 2.5%, with 93.7 million litres being released for consumption in the reference period. In the case of gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline dropped by 0.8% and for unleaded 98 by 1.5%. The sales of these fuels were 33.9 and 6.8 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 13.5 (+7.8 % than in the previous year) and 7.0 thousand tonnes (+2.3%), respectively.
Mean prices showed a downward trend throughout the year
From now on, DREM will release data on the quarterly average of the maximum selling prices of some fuels. During 2014 the price of diesel oil dropped. In the first quarter, the mean price was €1.349, higher than the one registered in the last quarter of 2014 (€1.270). The annual average was €1.322.
The unleaded 95 gasoline showed a more irregular trend throughout the reference year, but the price of this fuel was also lower in the 4th quarter (€1.59) than in the first three months of 2014 (1.64€). The annual average was €1.642.
