In the first ten months of 2024, the year-on-year changes in aircraft and passenger movements were +0.4% and +3.9%, respectively.
Each aircraft (considering both landings and take-offs) transported, on average, approximately 153 passengers (151 in October 2023) at Madeira Airport, while at Porto Santo Airport, this figure achieved 85 passengers (89 in the same month of the previous year).

In October 2024, passenger movement at airports in the Autonomous Region of Madeira grew by 8.1% in international traffic but decreased by 1.1% in the domestic segment.
At Madeira Airport, international traffic (56.8%) predominated over domestic (43.2% of the total). At Porto Santo Airport, there was a preponderance of domestic traffic (75.8% of the total), although with less disparity compared to September 2024.
In this reference month, regular flights at the ARM airports accounted for 90.9% of the total aircraft movements and 94.0% of passengers (91.3% and 93.3% in the same period last year, respectively).
In October 2024, the occupancy rate of aircraft movements at the ARM airports was around 87.3%, with Madeira Airport reaching 88.3% and Porto Santo at 73.4%. In the same period of the previous year, the occupancy rate was lower in both regional airports (86,2%), as well as in Madeira Airport (86,9%).
