[NOTE: In the monthly release for the reference year of 2023, DREM (Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira) maintains the same reporting model as the previous year, which includes hotels, rural tourism, and all types of local accommodation, regardless of the number of beds. However, Statistics Portugal (INE) excludes local accommodation with less than 10 beds in its release. Therefore, in this press release, the "In Focus" and the tables published by DREM show higher total figures for guests and overnight stays compared to those reported by INE. However, variables such as occupancy rates, number of rooms, revenue, and personnel costs align with INE's data, as these calculations exclude local accommodation establishments with fewer than 10 beds.]
