[Note: Regarding the monthly dissemination of data for the reference year 2024, DREM maintains the same model as the previous year, reporting an aggregate that includes hotels, rural tourism, and all local accommodation, regardless of the number of beds. Conversely, Statistics Portugal (INE), in its publication, excludes local accommodation with fewer than 10 beds. Therefore, in this report, in the "Em Foco" publication, and the tables published by DREM, a total number greater than that of the INE is mentioned concerning guests and overnight stays. However, for the variables occupancy rates, rooms, revenue, and personnel costs, the values are consistent with those of the INE, as their data collection also excludes local accommodation with fewer than 10 beds.]

In 2024

Total revenue in the Region's tourist accommodation sector increased by 15.3%

The tourist accommodation, in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, recorded the entry of 146.3 thousand guests, generating 790.2 thousand overnight stays, reflecting year-on-year increases of 9.0% and 12.8%, respectively.
