Cinema exhibition in the Autonomous Region of Madeira - number of performances increased; spectators and revenues decreased year-on-year
According to the provisional data provided by the Institute for Cinema and Audiovisuals (ICA), 8,410 performances were recorded during the first six months of 2016 in Madeira’s cinemas, a 7.4% increase over the same period of 2015.
The number of spectators stood at 124,263, down by 3.3% from the corresponding period of the last year.
In the first half of 2016, the box office revenues decreased by 6.2% year-on-year to a total of € 584,000.
