82.7% of private households of the Autonomous Region of Madeira had internet connection at home

According to the results of the Survey on the Usage of Information and Communication Technologies in Households for 2018, 82,7% of private households in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), with at least one individual aged between 16 and 74, had access to the Internet at home (81.3% through broadband), an increase of 1.4 percentage points (p.p.) compared to 2017.

The proportion of individuals in that age group that use in the 12 months prior to the interview the internet stood at 76.2%. The use of Internet to make purchases or orders (electronic commerce) was carried out by 37.1% of those individuals in the 12 months prior to the interview and 26.7% did so in the 3 months prior to the interview.
