In the first nine months of 2019
Main fuels released for consumption increased by 3.6% year-on-year
In the first nine months of 2019, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totalled 112.4 million litres, increasing by 3.6% compared to the same period of 2018. 80.4 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 3.7% over the same period of the previous year. In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 2.1% while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 7.6%. The sales of these fuels were 24.8 and 7.2 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 17.9 and 4.6 thousand tonnes, by the same order. 17.1 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the reference period.
Taking in consideration the third quarter of 2019, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totalled 39.6 million litres, increasing by 5.9% year-on-year. 28.1 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption between July and September 2019, up by 5.9% over the year-ago period.
In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 5.2%, while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 8.1%. The sales of these fuels were 8.9 and 2.6 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 1.7 and 1.3 thousand tonnes, respectively. 5.5 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the third quarter of 2019.
Average prices in the third quarter of 2019 on the drop
In the 3rd quarter of 2019, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.248, lower than the price registered in the corresponding quarter of 2018 (€1.286). Compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows a decrease of 4.4 cents.
The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.490, 3.5 cents below the price of the 3rd quarter of 2018 and down by 2.6 cents from the previous quarter.
