Main fuels released for consumption increased by 2.3% year-on-year
In the first six months of 2019, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totalled 72.7 million litres, increasing by 2.3% compared to the same period of 2018. 52.3 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 2.5% over the same half of the previous year. In the case of gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline increased by 0.4% while the demand for unleaded 98 rose by 7.3%. The sales of these fuels were 15.9 and 4.6 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 16.3 and 3.3 thousand tonnes, respectively. 11.6 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the reference period.
Taking in consideration the second quarter of 2019, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totalled 37.5 million litres, increasing by 2.3% compared to the same period of 2018. 27.0 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption between April and June 2019, up by 2.6% over the year-ago period. In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 0.2%, while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 7.5%. The sales of these fuels were 8.2 and 2.4 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 4.4 and 1.5 thousand tonnes, respectively. 5.8 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the second quarter of 2019.
Average price of diesel in the second quarter of 2019 was €1.292
In the 2nd quarter of 2019, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.292, a higher price than the one registered in the corresponding quarter of 2018 (€1.266). If compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows an increase of 3.6 cents.
The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.516, decreasing by 0.5 cents compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. That price went up by 10.6 cents from the previous quarter.
