In the first six months of 2015

Main fuels released for consumption decreased by 0.2% year-on-year

in the first six months of 2015, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira stood at 65.0 million litres, decreasing by 0.2% compared to the same period of 2014. The main fuel – diesel oil – rose by 0.1%, with 45.5 million litres being released for consumption in the reference period. In the case of gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline dropped by 2.2% while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 5.2%. The sales of these fuels were 16.1 and 3.4 million litres, respectively.

Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 8.7 (+19.8% than in the same period of the previous year) and 2.6 thousand tonnes (-24.4%), respectively.

Mean prices were lower than in the same quarter of 2014 but higher than in the previous quarter

In the 2nd quarter of 2015, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.203, lower than the one registered in the corresponding quarter of 2014 (€1.335). However, if compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows an increase of €0.051.

The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.547, down by €0.113 compared to the 2nd quarter of 2014 but up by €0.105 from the previous quarter.
