According to data from the Annual Survey on Construction Enterprises (IAEC), in 2024, the total value of works performed by construction enterprises in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) amounted to 1 073.8 million euros, reflecting a rise of 18.7% compared to the previous year. This represents the highest value recorded since 2008. Of this amount, 66.7% pertained to building works (716.2 million euros), while the remaining 33.3% pertained to civil engineering works (357.5 million euros), with both components registering increases of 13.9% and 29.8%, respectively. In this category of enterprises, the works carried out in building construction represented 66.0% of the total value of work performed, significantly outweighing civil engineering works (34.0%). This mirrors the distribution observed in the previous year (65.3% and 34.7%, in the same order). Works carried out in building construction represented, in the reference year, around 477.6 million euros, an increase of 11.4% compared to the previous year.
