In the third quarter 2019
Number of transacted dwellings in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased
In the third quarter 2019, 784 dwellings were traded in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, rising by 6.5% over the previous quarter and by 0.6% compared to the 3rd quarter 2018.
From that total, 606 were existing dwellings and the remaining 178, new dwellings. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of traded existing dwellings went up by 5.2% (-1.1% y-o-y) while in the case of new dwellings there was a 11.3% increase (+7.2% y-o-y).
The value of transacted dwellings in the reference quarter was approximately 103.5 million euros, representing a 5.7% increase over the previous quarter and a 2.8% drop compared to the same quarter of the prior year. The sales value for the new dwellings stood at 31.0 million euros and for the existing dwellings at 72.5 million euros.
In Portugal, the number of transacted dwellings in the third quarter 2019 reached 45.8 thousand (a 7.6% increase compared to the last quarter), generating a sales value of 6.5 billion euros (+6.5%). The year-on-year change rates were -0.2% and +3.0%, respectively.
