Madeira’s economy accelerated
The Regional Indicator of Economic Activity (RIEA) indicates that economic activity maintained a positive growth in the month of October, showing a small acceleration when compared to the previous month.
The calculation of the Indicator already includes the latest data from the Regional Accounts, published by the Statistics Portugal on December 15, for this reason there is a slight revision of the values of the previous periods.
It should be noted that this indicator is a synthesis instrument whose objective is to facilitate the timely monitoring of the regional economy, in particular as regards to direction and magnitude of fluctuations, and does not present itself as a substitute for other official statistics, namely of annual rate of change of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
