In the 4th quarter 2018
Median price of dwelling sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira stood at 1 207 euros per square meter
In the 4th quarter 2018 (last 12 months), the median price of dwelling sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 1 207 euros per square meter, the highest value since the 1st quarter 2016 (1st period of the series), standing above the national average (996 euros per square meter). Compared to the previous quarter, the growth rate was 0.3%, while in year-on-year terms the change rate was 7.2%. By the same order, the rates of change for the country were 1.2% and 6.9%, respectively. The value for new dwellings (1 312 euros per square meter) was higher than the value for existing dwellings (1 176 euros per square meter).
In the last two years, i.e. comparing the 4th quarter 2018 with the same quarter of 2016, there was a 17.9% growth, above the country’s average (15.0%).
In the reference quarter, the median value of dwelling sales in Portugal stood at 996 euros per square meter, the highest value of the series, reaching 1 116 euros per square meter for the new dwellings and 973 euros per square meter for the existing dwelling.
