The survey results point to a slight improvement in the enterprises situation in the 1^st fortnight of July, reflecting the progressive relieving of the pandemic containment measures. The percentage of enterprises in operation in the 1^st fortnight of July increased to 92% compared to 87% in the previous fortnight. Comparing the results obtained for April, when the state of emergency was in force, with July, the improvement is more notorious, with the percentage of enterprises in operation increasing from 69% to 92%.

Given the situation that could be expected without the pandemic, 68% of the enterprises reported a negative impact on turnover (compared to 76% in the previous fortnight). In the 1^st fortnight of July, between 32% and 42% of the respondent enterprises had already benefited from the government support measures, including the simplified layoff, assessing them as very important for their liquidity situation.

37% of the enterprises recorded a reduction in the number of persons employed effectively working compared to the situation that could be expected without the pandemic (41% in the previous fortnight and 71% in April).

21% of the enterprises reported have reduced the number of jobs since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and 70% had no impact on the total number of persons employed. The vast majority of enterprises (78%) plan to maintain their jobs until the end of the year, while among the rest, there is a relative balance between those that envisage increases and reductions.

When asked about the options related to the new measures to support employment, 8% of the enterprises intend to resort to the extraordinary incentive to normalise the activity following the end of the simplified layoff in August, while 77% should choose to keep the use of simplified layoff or resort to support for progressive recovery.
