DREM releases the 2020 Activity Report
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) makes available today in the area of Organization - Planning and Management, its Activity Report for 2020, which received a favourable opinion from the Statistical Council, in the Plenary Meeting held on 12th July.
This document is prepared in accordance to the Regional Legislative Decree No. 27/2009/M, of 24th August, (as amended by the Regional Legislative Decree 12/2015/M of 21st December), under the scope of the Self-Assessment of the SIADAP-RAM1 structure, following the guidelines issued by the 8th Deliberation of the Statistical Council (CSE) and the General Guidelines of Official Statistical Activity (LGAEO) 2018-2022, which embody the strategic objectives of the National Statistical System.
This report describes the wide range of activities developed by DREM during 2020, as a Delegation of Statistics Portugal (INE) and as a Statistical Authority, having as framework the Activity Plan for 2020, the strategic goals referred to herein and also taking in account the mission and values of this Regional Directorate. These activities were developed as statistical authority, concerning official statistics of regional scope and, in those of national scope, participating in its process, under the technical and scientific supervision of Statistics Portugal.
Despite having been a year with very specific restrictions, DREM maintained the growth trend of the previous years, with more data releases, more pageviews on the website and more news in the media referring to DREM. These results are reflected in the fact that DREM exceeded more than 60% of the targets proposed in the 19 indicators contained in the Framework for Evaluation and Accountability (QUAR).
It should be noted that the 2019 Activities Report (whose approval was delayed due to the disruptions generated by the COVID-19 pandemic) has also been made available in the same area of the website, as well as the 2020 social balance and the 2021 Activities Plan (together with the QUAR). Thus, all DREM planning and management documents are up to date.
