Trade balance of the Autonomous Region of Madeira with foreign countries was positive and amounted to 803 thousand Euros

According to the preliminary data for the first nine of months of 2014, the trade balance of goods with foreign countries stood at 803 thousand Euros, representing a coverage rate of imports by exports of 100.9%. In the same period of 2013, the balance was negative (-4.8 million Euros).

In the first nine months of 2014, exports totalled 94.3 million Euros (62.1 million Euros in the corresponding period of the previous year), 79.1% of which destined for Third Countries (i.e. outside the EU), while imports reached 93.5 million Euros (66.9 million Euros in the first nine months of 2013), 79.4% of which coming from the EU.
