In the third quarter of 2021
Cement sales increased compared to the previous quarter and year-on-year
According to the data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the third quarter of 2021, the cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira stood at 43.3 thousand tonnes, reflecting an increase of 8.5% over the previous quarter (39.9 thousand tonnes).
Compared to the same quarter of the prior year (33.3 thousand tonnes), there was also a growth of 30.0%. Noteworthy that the quantity of cement sold in the 3rd quarter of 2021 is the highest since the 4th quarter of 2014.
Regarding the value of cement sold in the Autonomous Region of Madeira in the reference quarter, it stood at 4.9 millions euros, increasing by 10.5% from the previous quarter and by 33.5% year-on-year.
Year-to-date (January to September 2021), the cement sales had a year-on-year increase of 28.5% in volume and of 30.3% in value.
