In the 2nd quarter of 2024
Volume of cement sold increased by 16.8% year-on-year
According to data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the 2nd quarter of 2024, cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) reached 46.2 thousand tonnes, reflecting a 13.2% increase compared to the previous quarter (40.8 thousand tonnes). Similarly, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (39.5 thousand tonnes), there was also a 16.8% growth.
In the referenced quarter, the value of cement sold in the ARM amounted to 6.5 million euros, showing a quarterly and year-on-year increase of 15.3% and 34.9%, respectively.
Year-to-date (the first six months of 2024), the volume of cement sold rose by 6.5% compared to the same period in the previous year, while the value of cement sold went up by 22.5%.
