Volume and the value of cement sold in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased year-on-year but decreased compared to the previous quarter
According to data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in the 3rd quarter of 2024, cement sales in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (ARM) reached 44.6 thousand tonnes, reflecting a 3.5% decrease compared to the previous quarter (46.2 thousand tonnes). Similarly, compared to the same quarter of the previous year (42.4 thousand tonnes), an increase of 5.1% was recorded.
Additionally, in the same quarter, the value of cement sold in the ARM amounted to 6.3 million euros, showing a quarterly decline of 3.6%, but a year-on-year growth of 17.8%.
Year-to-date (the first nine months of 2024), the volume of cement sold increased by 6.1% compared to the same period in the previous year, while the sales value rose by 20.9%.
