[NOTE: In the monthly release for the reference year of 2023, it is important to note that DREM (Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira) maintains the same reporting model as the previous year, which includes hotels, rural tourism, and all types of local accommodation, regardless of the number of beds. However, Statistics Portugal (INE), in its release, excludes local accommodations with fewer than 10 beds. As a result, in this press release and the tables published by DREM, the total figures for guests and overnight stays may appear higher compared to those reported by INE. However, variables such as occupancy rates, number of rooms, revenue, and personnel costs align with INE's data, as these calculations exclude local accommodation establishments with fewer than 10 beds.]
