Inflation rate in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was 2.3%
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) releases today on its website two publications - one for December 2017 and the other for the year 2017 - with data concerning the Consumer Prices Index.
In December 2018, the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month average rate in Madeira was 2.3%, 0.1 percentage points (p.p.) below the previous month.
The highest positive changes were observed in "Transportation" (6.5%) and "Restaurants and hotels" (5.3%). The classes of "Clothing and footwear" and "Accessories, household equipment and current housing maintenance" were the only ones to register negative rates of change, -1.4% and -1.2%, respectively.
In Portugal, the value of the 12-month average rate was 1.0%, down by 0.1 p.p. from the previous month.
In December 2018, the average value of housing rents per square meter of floor area in the Region increased by 0.1% over the previous month.
