In the first quarter of 2023, the licensed and completed buildings in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased compared to the same period in the previous year
In the first quarter of 2023, a total of 128 buildings were licensed, representing a 1.6% increase compared to the same period in 2022 (126). Out of the licensed construction and demolition projects, 71.9% corresponded to new constructions (92), of which 95.7% were intended for family housing (88). These projects resulted in the licensing of 347 dwellings in new residential constructions, which is a 35.0% increase compared to the first quarter of 2022 (257).
Regarding the completed buildings, there was a 39.5% increase in this quarter compared to the same period in the previous year, with a total of 113 completed buildings, of which 63.7% were new constructions for family housing (72). As for the completed dwellings in new family constructions (91), the results indicate a 3.2% decrease compared to the same quarter in 2022 (94).
