In the first half of 2016
Landed catch, livestock slaughtering, egg production and poultry meat registered year-on-year increases
In the first six months of 2016 the egg production stood at 12.0 million units, increasing by 3.0% year-on-year.
In the same period, poultry meat totaled 2,309.4 tonnes, increasing by 19.9% compared to the same period of 2015.
Between January and June 2016, the weight of the slaughtered livestock rose by 12.4% year-on-year.
The data on landed catch show a 11.7% growth in volume in the first six months of 2016 and a 8.5% increase in first sale receipts, compared to the same period of last year.
This growth was mainly driven by the increase in the catch of tuna and tuna-like species (+14.6% in volume and +20.7% in first sale receipts). The catch of black scabbardfish decreased by 7.2% year-on year, while the first sale receipts generated by this species dropped by 0.9%.
