In the 3^rd quarter of 2021

Aggregate of withdrawals and purchases through automatic payment terminals of the SIBS network in the Region reached 556.2 million euros

Data provided by the Interbank Services Company (SIBS) for the Autonomous Region of Madeira for the 3^rd quarter of 2021, show that the amounts related to the two main operations of the SIBS network (withdrawals and purchases through automatic payment terminals), in aggregate, reached an amount of 556.2 million euros, 443.9 million euros with national cards and 112.3 million euros with international cards.

Withdrawals totalled 185.2 million euros, of which 168.3 million euros with national cards and 16.9 million euros with international cards.

In turn, purchases through automatic payment terminals (POS) were around 371.0 million euros, of which 275.7 million were with national cards and 95.4 million with international cards.

In the aforementioned period, payments totalled 46.1 million euros.

Data by municipality shows that in Funchal withdrawals and purchases in aggregate stood at 334.2 million euros, which corresponds to 60.1% of the total of the Region. On the other hand, Porto Moniz was the municipality with the lowest value in this indicator, standing at 4.0 million euros.

It should be noted that, as mentioned in the previous release, the data provided by the Interbank Services Company (SIBS) for the Autonomous Region of Madeira, are based on new data flows since January 2021, so it is not possible to provide a year-on-year comparison.
