Egg production, slaughtered livestock and landed catch registered a year-on-year drop, while poultry meat increased
In the first six months of 2020, the egg production stood at 9.6 million units, decreasing by 3.0% year-on-year.
In the same period, the poultry meat totalled 1,831.7 tonnes, increasing by 17.3% compared to the same period of 2019.

The data on landed catch, in the first six months of 2020, show a decrease both in volume (-39.4%) and in first sale receipts (-37.0%) compared to the same period of last year.
This growth was mainly driven by the decrease in the catch of tuna and tuna-like species (-56.2% in volume and -51.9% in first sale receipts). The catch of black scabbardfish increased by 2.9% year-on year, but the first sale receipts generated by this species dropped by 9.7%.
In the reference period, the mean value of fish landed was €3.00 (€2.88 in the same period of 2019), with the average price for tuna and similar reaching €2.97 (2.69€ in the first half of 2019). In the case of the black scabbardfish the mean value was €3.06 (€3.49 in the first six months of the last year). It should be mentioned that these ratios exclude the unloaded fish destined for self-consumption.
