DREM releases on its website the publication of "Demographic Statistics of the Autonomous Region of Madeira 2021" and updates the time series of demography
The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) makes available today, on its website, the publication of “Demographic Statistics of the Autonomous Region of Madeira 2021”, which presents an analysis of the demographic situation in 2021 and its evolution since 2011. The publication presents indicators relating to the resident population, birth and fertility, mortality, family formation and dissolution (marriages celebrated and dissolved by divorce or death) and foreign population.
This edition simultaneously publishes the series of Final Estimates of the Resident Population 2011-2020 (intercensal estimates referenced to the Census 2021), which revises the series of Provisional Estimates of the Resident Population 2011-2020. Also available are the Provisional Estimates of the Resident Population 2021 (post-census estimates based on Census 2021), which revise the ad hoc population estimation exercise released in June 2022, which was based on the provisional results of Census 2021. Given the availability of these estimates, the demographic indicators for the 2011-2020 period and for 2021 have also been revised.
