In 2015
Deliveries by mothers residing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira increased by 11.7%
1,926 deliveries by mothers residing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) were carried out in 2015, representing a 11.7% increase over 2014 (+201 deliveries). Twenty seven of that total were deliveries of twins. In the year of reference, 59.3% of the deliveries were from mothers aged between 26 and 35 years.
The municipalities which registered a higher share of deliveries were Funchal (38.7%), followed by Santa Cruz (21.7%) and Câmara de Lobos (14.8%).
