In the first nine months of 2017
Main fuels released for consumption increased by 4.1% year-on-year
In the first nine months of 2017, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totaled 107.7 million litres, increasing by 4.1% compared to the same period of 2016. 76.0 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption in the reference period, up by 5.3% over the same period of the previous year. In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline dropped by 0.1% while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 8.3%. The sales of these fuels were 25.4 and 6.2 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 10.9 (+6.4% than in the same period of the previous year) and 5.3 thousand tonnes (+19.5%), respectively. 14.6 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the reference period, down by 2.4% when compared with the same period of 2016.
Taking in consideration the third quarter of 2017, the main fuels released for consumption (diesel oil and gasoline) in the Autonomous Region of Madeira totaled 38.8 million litres, increasing by 8.1% compared to the same period of 2016. 27.4 million litres of the main fuel – diesel oil - were released for consumption between July and September 2017, up by 10.4% over the year-ago period. In the case of the gasolines, the demand for unleaded 95 gasoline rose by 0.9%, while the demand for unleaded 98 increased by 12.3%. The sales of these fuels were 9.1 and 2.3 million litres, respectively.
Concerning gas, the release for consumption of propane and butane stood at 3.0 (-2.8% than in the same period of the previous year) and 1.7 thousand tonnes (-0.8%), respectively. 5.9 thousand tonnes of natural gas were released for consumption in the third quarter of 2017, up by 6.7% when compared with the same period of 2016.
Mean prices were lower than in the previous quarter but higher than in the year-ago quarter
In the 3rd quarter of 2017, the mean price for diesel oil was €1.141, higher than the price registered in the corresponding quarter of 2016 (€1.111). Compared to the previous quarter, the price of this type of fuel shows a decrease of 4.0 cents.
The mean price for unleaded 95 gasoline was €1.433, down by 1.0 cents compared to the 3rd quarter of 2016 and 5.8 cents higher than in the previous quarter.
