The Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) releases today on its official statistics website data on public employment in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. These data comes from the Directorate-General for Administration and Public Employment, more precisely from SIEP (Synthesis of Public Employment Statistics).
In the 1st quarter 2017
Public Employment in the Regional Administration of Madeira decreased year-on-year and slightly increased compared to the previous quarter
The provisional data show that at 31/03/2017 there were 19,316 persons working in the Regional Administration of Madeira. Compared with the year-ago quarter this represents a decrease of 283 persons (-1.4%). The comparative analysis with the previous quarter shows an increase of 16 persons (+0.1%). At 31/12/2011 the number of persons working in the Regional Administration of Madeira stood at 21,354. This figure declined until the 3rd quarter of 2016, period in which the number of jobs reached the lowest point in the available series.
In the country’s Public Administration, the number of persons working in the Public Administration increased by 0.8% from the previous quarter and by 1.0% from the year-ago quarter.
